The services provided to ARAMCO employees, governor offices in eastern province, governor’s halfmoon palace, governor’s khaima Aqrabiyah, Al Mana Company and their palaces, Al Arafi Construction Company and their camps, Al Zajil Company and local customers from eastern province. The first digital satellite TV system with KU-BAND was launched in 1996 on HOTBIRD satellite and to receive the digital channels NOKIA company introduced NOKIA Digital Satellite Receiver. The service channel technical team studied and was trained about the new system and started to provide digital satellite tv services. The analogue system was upgraded into digital TV system gradually.Service channel provided TV Channels subscriptions such as MNET AFRICA, ART, ORBIT and Showtime. Service channel was the pioneer that offers these services.
To keep the satellite TV channels system updated and meet the high demands, the Service Channel Technical Team attended electronics exhibitions and expos that introduces new technology for satellite digital TV channels (free and paid channels) in different countries such as UAE, Qatar, Egypt, UK and etc. In 1997, it became the pioneer provider for subscription, receivers and installation for TFC (Filipino channel). Services usually offer to Filipino community within the kingdom. In the same year, NILESAT 101 was launched. Arabic channels multiplied and became high demands that Service Channel fulfilled the market demands. VSAT technology (internet services through satellite) introduced in the kingdom in 1999. The Service Channel Technical Team studied and was trained for modem configurations and VSAT system installation. It became the pioneer within the kingdom that offers the VSAT services. The first clients were the royal family, governor house and multinational companies. Also, purchased a hub in UK in 2001 for the clients. As the digital satellite tv services and VSAT services grows, Service Channel decided to disjoin the establishment for both services. Another company has been established for VSAT services and the digital satellite tv services remains to Service Channel. In 2013, Service Channel decided to convert into MediaCom due towards digital satellite tv services became fewer demands and high competitors. It easily boomed in the market for it is something that amuse people through sing along and utmost clients are looking for entertainment.
